As the impact on sport throughout the world continues to be impacted by COVID-19, the growth taking place within the sports marketing and digital space, our extraordinary creativity and our ability to pivot is something worth celebrating.

Hollard, the sponsors of the annual Sports Industry Awards, are pleased to announce that submissions are now open for the 2020 Awards. “Once again, we look forward to celebrating the people who make these amazing and impactful campaigns and events come to life, to recognise the immense effort, creativity and talent behind sports campaigns, events and sponsorships over the last year,” says Heidi Brauer, Chief Marketing Officer at Hollard.

The Hollard Sports Industry Awards will be held virtually on the 5 November.

All qualifying submissions will be reviewed by a judging panel consisting of 14 experts within the sports industry and marketing space before being announced at the virtual awards ceremony on 5 November.

The Awards this year will be part of a full-scale virtual conference into the global business of sport which will feature insight into industry best practice and enable delegates to hear from some of SA and the world’s best sports marketers as they reflect on a turbulent 2020.

“It is not going to be an easy road in the short-to-medium-term as the pandemic pans out. But I do not expect the sports industry will remain where it is now. Sports will come back better and stronger than ever as governments, leagues, broadcasters, players, rights owners, sponsors and marketing agencies put fans at the front and centre to welcome back a better normal” says Adrian Staiti, APAC President of sports marketing agency Sportfive.
