More than a mantra, it’s our purpose in action
We make a difference in the communities in which we operate through the business we do and the way we do business. We create and support initiatives that help solve societal challenges while driving value for our business and our brand. We’d love to save the whole world but know we make the most difference when we do what we’re best at and improve the things we can.
Take a look at some of these things – we call them our Better Futures projects. And we’re proud of every one.
The Daredevil Run is a special annual event that’s in sync with Hollard’s values – and sense of fun.

Helping those living in informal settlements protect themselves against the ravages of fire.
Lumkani leverages the power of South African-developed technology to alert residents of informal settlements to the risk of runaway fires while also offering them a means to protect their hard-won possessions.
The risk of devastation caused by fire has been around since the beginning of civilisation. As insurers, we’re all too familiar with the cost of uncontrolled fire outbreaks.
Because it’s in our mutual best interests, we’ve partnered with several municipalities to reduce the frequency and severity of fires in their neck of the woods. And we’re hoping to extend these partnerships in order to have an even greater impact.
We’re a big part of an initiative fondly known as WIWIT – Women Inspiring Women (to Lead) in Transport, a programme aiming to upskill female truck drivers in the transport sector.
Women drivers have historically faced huge obstacles in entering this male-dominated sector, despite potentially being safer drivers than their male counterparts.
We’re helping change that.
