About Women Inspiring Women to Lead in Transport

We’re a big part of an initiative fondly known as WIWIT – Women Inspiring Women (to Lead) in Transport, a programme aiming to upskill female truck drivers in the transport sector. Women drivers have historically faced huge obstacles in entering this male-dominated sector, despite potentially being safer drivers than their male counterparts. We’re helping change that. 

Hollard’s trucking division has sponsored two training truck trailers, equipped two training centres with 10 laptops each, and provided access to Hollard’s e-learning platform, among other things. But that’s just the beginning, as the programme is growing in leaps and bounds. 

Ensuring greater female participation in the transport sector will go some way towards ensuring that our roads are safer. And safer roads equal better futures.
