Hollard Investments has an experienced team of investment professionals that
adds value by driving the investment strategy process. It collaborates with
asset managers and top-calibre administrators who have the specialist skills to
run the underpinning framework.
Chief Investment Officer
As CIO, David's responsibility is to ensure the investment integrity of
Hollard Investments' entire range of branded investment offerings. This
encompasses aspects as diverse as defining and developing Hollard's investment
proposition, formulating investment strategy, appointing and monitoring asset
managers, and reporting to clients. His responsibilities span both Hollard's
institutional and retail investment product offerings.
Over the last 13 years, David has held senior investment management roles at
Acsis, NedGroup Investments and PPS Investments.
David holds BA, LLB and MBA degrees from the University of Cape Town and is a
Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA Charter holder) and a Member of the South
African Institute of Stockbrokers (MSAIS).
Conlias is a co-fund manager for the Hollard unit trust range. He also heads the investment research and asset allocation process for both the unit trust and model portfolio ranges. Conlias joined Hollard Investments in 2013. Prior to this, he spent 5 years at PPS Investments as an investment research analyst, focusing on both asset classes and managers. He also worked at Imalivest Asset Management as a hedge fund quantitative analyst. Conlias started his career in the investments industry as a pension funds actuarial consultant for African Actuarial Consultants.
Conlias holds a B.Com (Hons) in Actuarial Science, MSc in Mathematical Finance and MBA. He is also a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
Head: Manager Research
Ashveena joined Hollard Investments in May 2015, from Liberty Financial Solutions where her role was focused around managing the Liberty shareholder investment portfolio. Ashveena also spent 3 years as an investment analyst at PPS Investments. Ashveena heads the manager research process and is responsible for model portfolio construction.
Ashveena holds a Bachelor of Business Science in Actuarial Science (specialisation in Quantitative Finance) and is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and CAIA.
Carl joined Hollard Investments in September 2014. Before joining Hollard he spent 3 years at Citadel Asset Management in Cape Town as a Fund Research Analyst where his role was to conduct quantitative and qualitative research on the South African Unit Trust landscape.
Carl is a Quantitative Analyst for Hollard Investments and holds a Bachelor of Business Science degree (Hons) from the University of Cape Town and is currently busy with his CFA studies having passed Level 1 in 2015 and level 2 in 2016.
Florbela joined Alexander Forbes in 1993, where she spent 6 years as a senior consultant in the health care division. She transferred to Investment Solutions in 1999 as a Marketing Executive responsible for institutional new business.
From January 2007, as Head of Institutional Business in South Africa for RMB International Multi-Managers, she was tasked with growing the business, communicating changes in asset allocation and manager decisions. She joined Stanlib Multi-Managers in 2007 where her focus moved to the retail space and this was her introduction to the IFA and the high-net worth client world.
In June 2011 she left the corporate world to set up a Foundation Office for St Peter’s School where she managed the trust fund and set the strategy for the endowment, community partnership, bursary, intern and staff initiatives.
In 2014 Florbela joined Hollard Investments as an Investment Specialist focusing on managing the partner relationships. As an investment specialist, she fulfils the link between the investment and distribution teams. Her role involves building models that tie in with the IFA’s advice processes, finding new business opportunities, helping IFAs grow their book and reporting back on market and product performance.
