Personal Accident Insurance Benefit

Overview

If the worst happens and you’re involved in a car accident, our En Route personal accident insurance covers the driver of the car or motorbike (covered under our policy), and up to a maximum of nine passengers, for death or permanent disability. We also cover:

  • Medical expenses
  • The cost of professional trauma counselling

You can also choose our General personal accident insurance which covers you, your partner and a maximum of 6 children for death or permanent disability caused by any kind of accident (including a car accident). You don’t have to have your car covered with us to choose our General personal accident insurance. The following benefits and services are included in our General personal accident insurance:

  • Medical expenses
  • The cost of professional trauma counselling
  • Life support machinery
  • Mobility cover, for example the cost of a wheelchair
  • Rehabilitation costs on permanent disability
  • Emergency transportation costs to a medical facility
  • Return of an injured person from hospital to his home
  • Return of a body from place of death to place of burial
  • Trauma and HIV assistance helpline – 24 hour emergency assistance if you are the victim of a traumatic accident or act of violence like assault, robbery, armed car hijack or rape.
  • Rental car excess cover – this is available at an extra cost and covers the excess you have to pay to a car rental company if you have an accident with a rental car.

Got a complaint?

We hope that you never have any reason to complain, but if you do we’ll do our best to work with you and resolve it through the following process:

Step 1: Get in touch with our customer care specialists by emailing easycomplaints@hollard.co.za.

Step 2: If you need to take the issue further, ask to speak to a claims or administration manager to discuss your concerns.

Step 3: If, after speaking to a manager, your complaint is not yet resolved, you can take the matter further by writing to our internal dispute resolution committee. Your concerns will be investigated by a person with full authority to deal with the complaint and we’ll inform you of the outcome within 15 working days of receiving your letter.
