What is DAY-AID Hospital Cash Back Plan
As a breadwinner of a family, it can be incredibly stressful to have to return home from hospital and have to face everyday expenses and bills. The reality is that after being discharged, life goes on and these costs need to be addressed. Hollard’s DAY-AID Hospital Cash Back Plan will assist you in getting back on your feet and helps take care of day-to-day bills.
If you spend more than three consecutive days in hospital, Hollard will give you a payout of between R200 – R5,000 for each day you or one of your beneficiaries spend in hospital. This cash - which is paid out once you’ve been discharged - is yours to use however you like. The money can be used to purchase daily groceries, pay rent or electricity bills and contribute to children’s school fees or any other pressing commitment you may be faced with. Claims are payable at the end of the period of hospitalisation or when 30 (thirty) days benefit is due, whichever is earlier. How does one qualify for the benefits of DAY-AID?
What makes this policy so appealing, along with the sense of peace of mind, are the numerous benefits. You’ll save costs as there is no prior medical examination necessary, nor is there a need for an HIV test. On top of that, DAY-AID Hospital Cash Back Plan covers pregnancy (after the 12 months of cover) and pays a lump sum of R50 000 in the event of the accidental death and disability. An additional amount of R10 000 will be paid if the Insured Person dies or becomes disabled as the result of an accident while travelling as a fare paying passenger on public transport.
After five years, regardless of whether or not you’ve claimed, you will also receive 20% cash back.
