As a policy holder of DAY-AID Hospital Cash Back Plan, you are able to receive a lump sum of cash to cover expenses upon your return from hospitalisation. This insurance plan is not a medical aid, and hasn’t been designed as an alternative to one. If you’re a member of a medical aid, the expenses you incur during your stay in hospital will be covered. On the other hand, DAY-AID is a hospital cash back plan that lets your family live well, while you get well.

You have the choice to tailor your policy to your needs, and may include whoever you want; your spouse, any family member and up to six children in the policy. You, or these beneficiaries, will be covered once they’re discharged from hospital for up to 180 days. This significantly alleviates the stress of returning home from hospital and having to face bills while getting well, or helping a family member on the road to recovery.

Hollard understands that life is unpredictable and has included an accidental death and disability cover.This benefit pays a lump sum of R50 000 in the event of accidental death or disability. Since many people rely on public transport, Hollard has included a specific accidental death or disability benefit associated with accident or injuries as a result of this. If death or disability was due to an accident while travelling as a fare-paying passenger on public transport, you will receive an additional amount of R10,000.

Immediate Cover and Peace of Mind

After you’ve paid your first premium, cover is immediate. Claims are then payable at the end of the period of hospitalisation or when 30 (thirty) days benefit is due, whichever is earlier. Hollard pays from R200 – R5,000 for each day spent in hospital and what’s more, they pay from day one (as long as you are in hospital for three consecutive days).

Anyone between the ages of 18 – 59 who earns a gross monthly income of R5,000 (that’s after tax) can qualify for this offering.
