How to claim on Funeral Insurance

Follow the easy steps below to get your claim fast and efficiently.

  1. 1 Notify us
    • Please notify us of your intent to claim within 24-hours of the event. If this isn’t possible, please call us as soon as possible on the below toll-free number.

    • You’ll need to send us relevant Funeral Insurance documentation.
      Download the necessary Hollard forms by clicking on the links in the lists below.

      • Natural Death
      • In the event of a natural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process the funeral policy payout:


      • Funeral claim form
      • Certified copy of death certificate
      • Certified copy of identity document of both the insured and beneficiary
      • Certified documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
      • BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
      • Unnatural Death
      • In the event of an unnatural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process the funeral policy payout:


      • Funeral claim form
      • Certified copy of death certificate
      • Certified copy of identity document of both the insured and beneficiary
      • Certified documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
      • BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
      • Police report
      • Road traffic accident report (if applicable)
      • Full post-mortem report
      • Valid driver’s license (if applicable)
