Funeral Insurance - How to claim

To receive your funeral policy payout, you will have to file a claim with Hollard.

In order to process a funeral insurance claim, Hollard will require certain documentation from you. Please note that all documents received for a funeral insurance claim should be certified copies of originals where applicable.

Natural

In the event of a natural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process your funeral insurance claim:

  • Funeral Claim Form
  • Copy of Death Certificate
  • Copy of identity document of insured and beneficiary
  • Documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
  • BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)

Unnatural

In the event of an unnatural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process your funeral insurance claim:

  • Funeral Claim Form
  • Copy of death certificate
  • Copy of identity document of insured and beneficiary
  • Documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
  • BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
  • Police report
  • Road traffic accident report if cause due to Motor Vehicle accident
  • Full post mortem report
  • Valid drivers' licence ( if applicable)
