Funeral Insurance - How to claim

To receive your funeral policy payout, you will have to file a claim with Hollard.

In order to process a funeral insurance claim, Hollard will require certain documentation from you. Please note that all documents received for a funeral insurance claim should be certified copies of originals where applicable.

Natural

In the event of a natural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process your funeral insurance claim:

Funeral Claim Form
Copy of Death Certificate
Copy of identity document of insured and beneficiary
Documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)

Unnatural

In the event of an unnatural death, Hollard requires the following documents to process your funeral insurance claim:

Funeral Claim Form
Copy of death certificate
Copy of identity document of insured and beneficiary
Documentary proof of marriage (if applicable)
BI1663 - notification of death (obtainable from a doctor or funeral parlour)
Police report
Road traffic accident report if cause due to Motor Vehicle accident
Full post mortem report
Valid drivers' licence ( if applicable)
