Hollardites show kick-off 'gees'

Date: June 16,2010

Hollard certainly had the 'gees' at the kick-off of the Fifa World Cup on 11 June. Hollard family and friends gathered at our Head Office in Parktown to celebrate the biggest show on earth... and a great performance from Bafana Bafana. It was a sea of yellow soccer shirts, flags waving high - everyone truly flying South Africa's colour's high and proud. There was an electric atmosphere and the sounds of vuvuzelas (and shouts at the screen), filled the atrium. It was a historic day for South Africa and Hollard was proud to share it with staff, family and friends.

Hollardites do the Diski

Date: June 14,2010

Hundreds of Hollardites turned out to do the Diski Dance to celebrate the World Cup.

Professional instructor, Debbie Rakusin, demonstrated and taught the special version of the Diski Dance that needs less space. This is so fans can leap up and do the Diski right there in the stands as they watch the matches ... with true African rhythm and style. The Diski session was in response to the official call from South African Tourism for South Africans to celebrate the World Cup and Hollardites really did shake the rafters with the vuvuzela’s and SA spirit. Bruce Fordyce was also on hand to get everyone revved-up and 'get off the bench.'

We have an incredible event to celebrate. Make sure that you are part of it!

Soccer Fever

Date: June 11, 2010

Look at what the Hollardites are doing to get into Soccer Fever! Blowing their hearts out for five minutes with 2 days to go to kick-off! Hundreds of Hollardites brought traffic to a standstill today as they heeded the call to show the world our pride. They were having their Vuvuzela Moment on Hollard’s front lawn next to the M1 highway in Jo'burg as Bafana Bafana drove through Sandton and cars hooted and joined in the nation's celebration. The energy and excitement was palpable as cars on the highway slowed down, hooted and took photographs of the spectacle on Hollard's lawns. The staff were accompanied by Hollard's patriotic CHOC cow who flew South Africa and Bafana Bafana's flags.
